LEEDS UNITED have suffered a serious blow with the news that striker Tony Yeboah will miss the start of the new campaign with a knee injury.

The Ghanaian international had an examination on the knee problem that kept him out of the side at the end of last season and will now undergo an exploratory operation early next week. Manager Howard Wilkinson said: "At the moment it is not possible to say how many games Tony will miss."
