John Wright of Malahide CC seems certain to be ratified as honorary secretary designate of the Irish Cricket Union at its annual general meeting in Dundalk next Sunday.

The officers of the ICU have already unanimously recommended that Wright should succeed the long serving Derek Scott, who will retire from the position next year. Their recommendation is expected to receive the support of all the delegates at the a.g.m.
