Home advantage also proved vital in the semi-finals of the Metropolitan Cup when Corrstown and Beech Park advanced to meet in the final. Beech Park won all the matches at home in their semi-final against a young Slade Valley side for a slender 5-4 win. Corrstown were even more impressive in beating Donabate 8-1. Taking four of the five matches at home, Corrstown made a clean sweep at Donabate winning all four matches. Meanwhile holders Wicklow take a 6-3 lead into the the second leg of the Provincial Towns Cup at Edenderry on August 13th after Saturday's first leg at Wicklow.
