Wicklow hit four points without reply to see off the Offaly challenge at Aughrim yesterday.

Six times the sides were level but it was Wicklow's burst near the end which proved decisive.

Wicklow, who led 0-5 to 0-4 at the break, had two good goal chances in the opening half, one from a penalty after their full-forward Alan Ellis was brought down. But the Offaly goalkeeper Brian Fenlon saved from Anthony Nolan's spot kick.
