KEN DOHERTY concluded his European League Group A campaign in fine style with a 6-2 win over out-of-form Jimmy White.

The 1996 champion secured the three points by winning the first five frames, including a 105-total clearance in the fifth - the only century of the match.

White then went down 5-3 to world number three Peter Ebdon, who kicked off the match with a 140 break, the highest in the tournament to date.

"This is my third year of the event and I was runner-up in '95 and won it last year," said Doherty.

Ebdon and Doherty will now form Group C along with the bottom two finishers in Group B, while White and John Parrott form a new group.
