IN yet another epic encounter between the two schools, Wesley College beat Mount Anville 4-2 after extra time in the Esat Digiphone-sponsored Leinster Schools' Junior A League final at Grange Road yesterday.

Mount Anville were just 90 seconds from victory in normal time. Sarah Griffith and Carol McGowan had replied with goals of their own to Laura McCoy's wonderful effort in the ninth minute, but Wesley captain Lynn Beck kept her nerve to convert a penalty stroke to equalise.

Wesley went on to dominate extra time, with midfielder Rachel Wallace scoring in each half from short corners.
