Unwanted record

In their first year competing in the Six Nations Championship Italy have at least made an impression on the record books. The highest championship score has been Ireland's 60 points in their demolition of the newcomers, while the biggest winning margin of 47 points also belongs to Ireland against Italy.

The most conversions in a match to date has been Ronan O'Gara's six against - who else - Italy.

Wales have scored the most penalty goals against the Italians but on a more positive statistic Italy have scored the most drop goals in the competition - outhalf Diego Dominguez kicked three against Scotland. All in all not a great track record going in to face England today.
