Having led the club to a clean sweep of last season's hockey honours, Glynis Taylor, now Irish assistant coach, should prove a hard act to follow for Jeanette Turner, the former Irish captain who has become player-coach of Pegasus.

The All-Ireland champions open the defence of their Ulster title at home to North Down tomorrow afternoon.

In Cork tomorrow a Munster Ladies' XI will play Sarah Kelleher's Slough (3.0) to mark the opening of Harlequins' second artificial pitch at Farmers Cross. In Dublin the Budweiser tournament, featuring eight Leinster clubs and Ulster guests Portadown and Collegians, gets under way at Grange Road this evening (6.0), with the final games on Sunday.
