The Republic of Ireland squad announcement scheduled for yesterday afternoon at Thomond Park had to be postponed until this morning as a result of a delay to the flight from Milan into Dublin on which Giovanni Trapattoni was due to travel.

A FAI spokesman said the flight had been held up due to technical problems and Trapattoni was due to arrive in Dublin last night before travelling on to Limerick.
