THE Canadian Davis Cup manager Louis Cayer has been hired by Tennis Ireland for a seven day period, later this month, to conduct seminars and coaching programmes in Dublin and Cork.

The move is being taken in conjunction with the Olympic Council of Ireland and the Olympic Solidarity Movement. Cayer is regarded as one of the world's leading tennis coaches and educators.

His stay here will be from February 20th to 26th and his primary function will be to work with junior squads, the Federation Cup team, and Olympic aspirants. Tennis Ireland's registered coaches will benefit through seminars in both Cork and Dublin.

Cayer is well known in the higher echelon of world tennis as an originator of the so called "Actions Method", the coaching concept used by many successful tennis nations. His undoubted skills in team management came sharply into focus as recently as last week when one of his charges, Sebastian Loreau, was a doubles finalist at the Australian Open.
