Timarida has to miss race

TIMARIDA missed last night's Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Santa Anita as she was running a temperature

TIMARIDA missed last night's Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Santa Anita as she was running a temperature. The news may signal retirement for the four-year-old who has won 10 races in five different countries for trainer John Oxx in the last two seasons.

"Timarida will not run," said Oxx's wife Caitriona yesterday. "We have just heard from our assistant Jim O'Neill in the US that she is running a temperature.

"No decision has yet been made about whether she will have another run or be retired."

The Aga Khan's filly was thought likely to be retired to stud at the end of this campaign.

She has earned over £600,000 in prize money with victories in Ireland, Canada, France, Germany and the US since making a winning debut on the first day of the Irish Flat season in March, 1995.
