Tennis is moving into the schools with the announcement this week of the first nationwide competition for secondary schools. With almost 800 schools all over the country invited to take part, it is expected to be Ireland's largest tennis competition.

The finals will take place at Riverview, Dublin, on March 24th after regional qualifying rounds at selected venues throughout the country on March 10th. It is hoped the event, sponsored by Ballygowan, will unearth some new talent and provide a platform for some of the best juniors in the country.
