It might have felt like summer this week but the season doesn't start for real until the first major lawn bowls tournament of the year. And that kicks off next weekend with the Premier Open Rinks Tournament at the CYM Club in Terenure.

The first Open competition of the year, it runs until May 21st and the teams of four will battle for the first prize of £1,000 as well as the perpetual trophy. There is also the trophy for the bowler of the week. And they're all hoping the weather keeps up.
