GORDON STRACHAN claimed he had been given "a fair hearing" after escaping with a £2,000 fine when answering two misconduct charges before a three man English FA commission at Birmingham yesterday.

Strachan, Coventry's 39 year old player assistant manager, was fined £2,000 for refusing to leave the field after being sent off by Hinckley referee Tony Green during Coventry's reserve game against West Bromwich Albion reserves at Highfield Road on Thursday, August 29th.
