St Munchin's were flattered by the final score line after yesterday's disappointing Munster schools senior cup clash with St Clement's at Thomond Park.

While St Munchin's were clearly the better side they found it extremely difficult to cope with the much bigger and stronger St Clement's forwards.

St Munchin's took the lead with a penalty by David O'Donovan after seven minutes but out-half Greg Dillon had St Clement's on terms six minutes later.

Two further penalties by O'Donovan moved Munchin's 9-3 ahead but they had to withstand strong pressure from the St Clement's pack before eventually making sure with a try by number eight, Conor Hartigan which was converted by O'Donovan.
