St Joseph's from Galway finished an impressive second in the top under-19 eights race at the British National Schools' regatta at Holme Pierrepoint in Nottingham on Saturday.

St Joseph's won both their heat and semi-final, but were beaten by Pangbourne in the final of the Child Beale Cup race. On their first appearance in 1989, St Joseph's (known as `The Bish') won the cup, but their best performance since then was second. This year their under-16 eight also finished third in their category.
