October 24thOn this day or later - but before the end of the month - John Delaney gets back to O'Brien.

November 1stThe board meet to consider how to approach the recruitment of a new manager. The members are told of an approach from O'Brien, and agree the matter should be investigated.

November 13thThe board meet again. John Delaney informs members that he has met Denis O'Brien, and outlines the businessman's offer to pay half the cost of the new management team.
