DIGEST/MOTOR SPORT:Spaniard Dani Sordo issued a warning to his Citroen team-mate and defending world champion Sebastien Loeb by recording the fastest time in practice for the Monte Carlo Rally yesterday - the opening round of the 2008 World Rally Championship.

Sordo's fastest time of two minutes and 25 seconds came on his final run of the 5.03km test in Vermoux en Vivarais, while Loeb's quickest effort was half a second slower. Petter Solberg was the third quickest.
