Liverpool's much-criticised strikers finally got back among the goals as the Reds hammered Fulham 5-1 at Anfield.

Robbie Fowler, who had his best game for the club since his return, netted in the first half with a clever header - his first goal in nine games - before Collins John levelled for the Londoners.

Michael Brown's own goal and a second-half strike from Fernando Morientes, ending a 16-match drought, gave Liverpool a commanding lead before Peter Crouch and Stephen Warnock netted in the closing stages.

The Reds' victory moved them to within two points of second-placed Manchester United, although the Red Devils have two games in hand.
