MARK SMYTH, a student at Grange Vocational School, Co Sligo, will lead a strong Irish team for the under-17 team title in the schools' international crosscountry championship at Chepstow tomorrow.

Smyth captains a squad which contains Shane O'Shaughnessy (Mayfield CS, Cork) and Dubliners Anthony Doherty (James St CBS) and Keith Young (Coomine).

The corresponding girls team will be captained by Aoife Byrne. (Loreto HS, Rathfarnham) and includes Olga Cronin (Midleton CC), Emer Doolaghty (Col Mhuire, Ennis) and Sarah Jane Guiney from the Belfast school, Mount Gilbert.
