Longford 1-14 Sligo 0-14:SLIGO SANK into Division Four when a late Longford goal saw the midland side survive in this division three relegation battle at Pearse Park yesterday.

Just after Sligo's Eamon Cawley had fired over a point to leave the sides all square, Longford, who had Declan Reilly sent off in the 58th minute, snatched the crucial score of the game with two minutes of normal time remaining.

A close-range shot from Brian Kavanagh was finished to the net by substitute Jamsie Martin and that was a killer blow for Sligo who had to win by a three-point margin to avoid the drop.
