Silly pranker

Arbroath wouldn't reveal how much they received from Brechin last week for defender Kevin Fotheringham. All they'd say was that it was a "five figure sum" which, happily, means it was a bit more than £6,000. That was the cost to the club of Fotheringham's decision to, well, expose himself in their team photo taken last summer. After printing 2,500 calendars, someone finally spotted the offending article and all 2,500 had to be shredded. The club promptly slapped him on the transfer list and Brechin finally agreed to take him off their hands. "It was a silly prank which I wish I hadn't done," the flasher admitted last week, "but such a fuss was made about it - it was only a small thing, really." Indeed.
