Juan Antonio Samaranch today confirmed that he will seek another term as president of the International Olympic Committee.

Juan Antonio Samaranch today confirmed that he will seek another term as president of the International Olympic Committee.

Samaranch (76) said he had received a clean bill of health from his doctors and will stand for re-election at the IOC session in Lausanne, Switzerland, in September.

If confirmed for a fourth term as expected, Samaranch, who has been president since 1980, would head the Olympic movement until 2001.
