DEREK RYAN had the first victory of his career against world champion Jansher Khan in a Super Squash League match in London.

Playing for Rowlands, Manchester the Dubliner beat the Pakistani world number one 10-8, 6-9, 9-5, 9-3 in the final league fixture of the season against Surbiton.

Ryan meets Khan again in the first round of the British Open in Cardiff on April 1st, the second successive year the pair were drawn together in the opening round of the sport's most prestigious tournament.
