Roger Wilson was handed a six-week ban for his red card after a head butt during Ireland A's defeat to the New Zealand Maori at the weekend but the number eight then had had his ban reduced to three weeks.

The incident happened in the Churchill Cup when the Ulster player was dismissed by referee Andy Small for carelss use of the head in a ruck towards the end of the game. However, when the player's previous record and show of remorse was taken into account his ban was reduced by half.

It means he will miss the Ireland A's final game of the Churchill Cup when they take on the England Saxons in Saturday's Plate in Edmonton.
