Sale Sharks centre Epi Taione has been cited for allegedly biting Munster's Denis Leamy on the arm during the 31-9 Heineken Cup defeat in Limerick.

The Tongan will appear before an independent disciplinary committee after being cited by the ERC following Saturday's surprise reversal at Thomond Park.

Citing commissioner Iain Goodall reported the alleged incident and Taione's case will be heard as soon as the disciplinary committee can be convened.
