Clermont Auvergne's Jamie Cudmore will miss Sunday's Heineken Cup clash against Munster after receiving a four-week suspension for punching.

The flanker was found guilty of striking Wasps prop Tim Payne when the teams met at Adams Park on December 15th.

An independent Disciplinary Committee heard the case and determined that the offence was "of mid-range in the level of seriousness".

Cudmore admitted that he was guilty of foul play in that he had punched Payne

Cudmore's ban runs from December 24th up to an including January 21st.  He has the right to appeal.

Munster travel to Clermont Auvergne for Sunday's game at the Stade Marcel Michelin.
