UNDER-21 FOOTBALL CONNACHT FINAL/Roscommon 1-6 Sligo 0-4:SLIGO'S DREAMS of winning a first title at this level lay in tatters after this lacklustre final at Markievicz Park on Saturday.

That they scored just four points, with only one coming from play, underlined the inadequacy of their performance.

Neither side found any rhythm, particularly in the second half, and it took a late goal by Alan O’Hara to seal the win for Roscommon, who also beat Sligo when they last won the title in 1999.

The visitors registered 11 wides, two more than their opponents.

Sligo’s only score of the second half was a 42nd-minute David Maye point.
