TWICKENHAM officials resume talks with England's top clubs tomorrow, after the belated call to Rugby Football Union president Bill Bishop to chair the discussions.

Bishop has been installed as ring master of talks - which have been deadlocked for the last three months over the issue of who controls the game. The underlying topics are player contracts, the structure of competitive rugby at the top and the control of television money.

English professional clubs have welcomed Bishop's arrival on the scene, but are still publicly wary of dealing with RFU executive committee chairman Cliff Brittle who remains chief RFU negotiator.

It is unlikely that a resolution of the worst administrative crisis to hit English rugby for a century will be delivered before the season ends on Saturday.

. The inaugural All Ireland Under 20 Cup competition will take place at the Clontarf grounds, Castle Avenue, next Sunday and Monday, between the four provincial league champions at this level.
