A strong-finishing second to Entrepreneur in the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas, the son of Fairy King went on to run disappointingly behind Desert King in the Curragh equivalent but was found to be coughing on his return to Manton and was forced to miss his intended engagement in the Derby.

Revoque was then aimed at the Sussex Stakes but had to forego last week's race as he had failed to recapture his earlier sparkle and was pencilled in for the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville later this month.

"Revoque is still not 100 per cent," remarked the trainer. "I'm not happy with him. He is still giving the odd cough."
