Those who believe bloodlines are everything should take a look at one of this evening's maidens at Ballinrobe where a couple of regally-bred Ballydoyle horses can be trumped by Dougal Philps, writes BRIAN O'CONNOR.

Aidan O’Brien sends a newcomer, Skyphos, a product of Galileo and Tarascon, who his son Joseph has chosen over Drops, a daughter of Kingmambo and the dual-Oaks heroine Alexandrova. Dougal Philps has decent form and that experience could be crucial. Mulleady can improve on a controversial run at Roscommon while stable companion Tepalo could score in the other maiden over flights. Dare To Doubt will be a Willie Mullins-trained fancy but on decent ground stable companion, Earls Quarter, may be each-way value.
