EQUESTRIAN:PROPOSALS BY the Federation Equestre Internationale to restructure the organisation were narrowly defeated at yesterday's egm in Copenhagen. National federations voted 49-48 against the proposal, with one abstention.

A process started 12 years ago, and accepted in principle by the FEI General Assembly in 2005, proposed the FEI would be governed by a smaller, regionally-balanced board. Yesterday's vote means the 19-member bureau remains in situ rather than the proposed seven-member board.
