LIONS lock Andy Reed has emerged from rugby's wilderness to make a claim for a place in Scotland's tour party to New Zealand this summer.

Reed, named in the initials squad of 47, recently returned to the game after a injury threatened an early end to his career.

The Bath lock, who last played for Scotland during the 1994 tour of Argentina, is on the bench for Saturday's Pilkington Cup semi final against Gloucester.
