WICKLOW SFC Rathnew 0-14 St Patrick's 1-8:RATHNEW laid to rest the hoodoo St Patrick's had over them in county finals when the sides met in yesterday's decider at Aughrim.

Rathnew dominated the first half and led 0-9 to 0-3 at the interval, helped by points from Tommy Gill, Mark Doyle, Barry Mernagh and Leighton Glynn.

David Smullen’s goal gave the battling St Patrick’s some hope, but the winners’ resolute defence held firm.
