The theory that the major events produce the best golf certainly held true for Michael Jackson's President's Prize at Charlesland last week. The winning score of 45 points by John D'Arcy, playing off a 10 handicap, represents a gross 73 - just one over the par of 72 for the course. In addition to four scores of 40 points or better two players had hole-in-one's on the day.

Ciaran Early holed out his tee-shot at the second and Paddy Byrne made an ace at the 17th. The target had been set the previous day when the president holed out his tee-shot at the 17th and followed with a birdie two at the same hole during his prize.
