THE mantle of favouritism rested lightly on the shoulders of Presentation Glasthule as they dismissed the challenge of a plucky St Benildus in the Junior Cup at Belfield.

Presentation looked as if they would swamp their opponents when their highly impressive centre, Des Doyle, charged over for a try after eight minutes, with their equally imposing skipper Brian Keegan converting.

With the advantage of a bitterly cold, biting wind in the second half, Presentation kept their opponents hemmed inside their own half for long periods, but all they had to show for their domination was a try by Darren Hughes which Keegan converted superbly from the sideline. Later, Hughes landed a penalty to seal his side's victory.
