It took five extra holes to decide the semi-finals and final of the Annesley Motors-sponsored Jack Lawless Memorial trophy at St Anne's on Saturday last. Eventual winners, Seamus and Margaret O'Neill from The Island, had to go to the 20th in both matches. In the semi-final they beat Royal Dublin's John Hutchinson and Donabate's Jacqui O'Beirne, and in the final they again went to the second tie hole to see off the challenge of Dave O'Hare and Phil Molloy of Beaverstown. O'Hare and Molloy also went to the 19th in their semi-final when beating the home pairing of Tony O'Beirne and Margaret McGuirk.
