Billy O'Neill's hopes of reaching the last 16 of the World Amateur Snooker Championship in New Zealand ended yesterday when he lost 4-2 to Scotland's Chris Shade. O'Neill had earlier kept his hopes of qualifying from his group alive when he beat Englishman Paul Morgan 4-3 but needed a victory against Shade to have a chance of progressing.
