Mary O'Farrell, a long-time tennis member at Elm Park and who recently took to the fairways, returned what looked like a winning score of 44 points in the recent singles. However, her 44 points was only good enough for second place after 16-year-old Suzanne Gilmore returned an incredible 48 points off a 40 handicap to pip Mary for first prize. Suzanne was cut six shots on handicap for her effort as was Clare Lynch who also returned 44 points.
