Frenchmen Jean van de Velde and Marc Noel along with English golfer Brian Davis were yesterday confirmed as starters in the $750,000 (Aus, approx £354,600) Players Championship at Royal Queensland next month.

Australia's world number one Greg Norman will headline the tournament, which will be played from December 4th to 7th, in his first appearance at the course since 1983, when he won the Queensland Open.
