Ireland will have no playing representation on the Britain and Ireland team to play the USA in the biennial Curtis Cup match at the Minihada Club, Minneapolis from August 1st-2nd.

Milltown's Suzanne O'Brien, sister of Walker Cup hero Jody Fanagan, has been selected as second reserve. Despite this setback, Ireland will be represented in the form of Elm Park's Ita Butler, who is non-playing captain.

Reserves: E Pilgrim (Celtic Manor), S O'Brien (Milltown), A Laing (Vale of Leven), L Nicholson (Heriot Watt University). Captain: I Butler (Elm Park). Vice captain: G Cadden (Buchanan Castle).
