Dublin's Neptune rowing club won six of the 12 finals on offer at the Irish National sculling championships at Inniscarra lake, Co Cork, yesterday. Neptune won the men's senior coxed fours, the men's senior coxless fours, the men's intermediate single sculls, the men's intermediate coxless pairs, and the men's novice coxed fours. They also took the men's senior double sculls in a composite crew with St Michael's Rowing Club from Limerick.

Dublin University's women had a fine treble, winning the senior coxless fours, intermediate single sculls and novice eights. Garda Club won the men's intermediate eights title for the first time since 1979 while Neil Byrne of the Commercial club won the men's lightweight sculls title.
