Naas trainer Nicholas Nelson will remember the second day of the Tramore Festival for a long time as he saddled his first winner since joining the training ranks 18 months ago when Barnamire Bay landed the featured Mean Fiddler Handicap Chase under Tom Rudd.

Sent off the rank 20 to 1 outsider in the depleted seven-runner field, Rudd sent the nine-year-old gelding to lead over the fourth fence and under an inspired ride kept his mount up to his task to hold off top-weight Colm's Rock by a rapidly diminishing half-length.
