Gaelic Games:Cork football manager Billy Morgan has had his six-month ban for verbal abuse of a linesman during the All-Ireland final reduced to eight weeks, to run from October 4th, writes Seán Moran.

The decision was taken by the Central Appeals Committee on Thursday night on the basis that the Central Hearings Committee did not quote the appropriate rule in handing down the original suspension.

It was announced last night that AIB and the GAA have agreed a five-year extension of the bank's sponsorship of the All-Ireland club championships.
