Media Star has been installed the 10 to 1 favourite with Coral and William Hill for the Tote Cesarewitch at Newmarket on October 18th, for which the weights were published yesterday. Ladbrokes have chalked up John Gosden's progressive four-year-old at the same odds but have chosen John Dunlop's Mawared, unbeaten in his last four starts, as their market leader at 8 to 1.The sponsors quote Media Star as their 12 to 1 favourite, with Mawared on the 14 to 1 mark in company with Right Man, Top Cees and Valagalore.Media Star, who just failed to complete a five-timer when a neck second to Far Ahead in the Tote Ebor at York last month, has been allotted 9st 1lb for the Newmarket marathon. Mawared has 8st 12lb.Top-weight of 9st 10lb is shared between the joint favourites for last year's race, Canon Can, who was beaten two necks in third behind Inchcailloch, and Jiyush, who finished a distant 12th.
