Catherina McKiernan continued her recent top-class form when she won the women's event in the Cross Oeust-France cross country race in Le Mans yesterday.

McKiernan was 21 seconds clear of the runner-up Jolsiae Llado, winning the 4.8 kilometres event in 15 minutes 27 seconds. This was McKiernan's ninth successive win since the Dublin mini-marathon last June. Britain's Jonathan Brown won the men's 10km, beating Kenya's Laban Chege by 10 seconds.
