Armagh forward Steven McDonnell has announced his retirement from intercounty football after 13 years’ service, the 2002 All-Ireland winner confirming he wouldn’t be rejoining the panel this season, having taken an extended break over the winter:

“After 13 years of playing county football with Armagh I have decided that the time is right for me to retire at this level and move on,” he said.
