WEXFORD substitute, Rory McCarthy, grabbed the winner in Birr yesterday to book a place for his side in the Walsh Cup SH final. Wexford won by 3-9 to 3-5.

In the 56th minute, Offaly's goalkeeper, David Hughes, came off his line to collect a long delivery from Damian Fitzhenry. But he let the greasy sliothar slip from his grasp and Rory McCarthy was there to score.
