KEVIN MANNING, who heads the flat riders table with 36 wins, was lucky to escape serious injury at Naas last evening after a horrific fall from the Jim Bolger-trained Da Silva in the Prosperous Handicap.

Manning, who commences a two-day suspension today, incurred at Bellewstown last week, crashed to the ground when the 10 to 1 chance fell before the turn-in, bringing down Miss Gatsby and Liam O'Shea.

Manning remained motionless for several minutes and was eventually taken to Naas Hospital for a precautionary X-ray after being stood on inside his right thigh. O'Shea, who bruised his arm, was quickly on his feet after the mishap but was also taken to hospital for X-rays.

Victory went to the Owen Weldon-trained Clanlucky, who came with a perfectly timed run under Ed Ahern to pip front-running Auntie Maureen and Seamus Heffernan by a neck.

Curragh trainer, James Burns, recorded his sixth win of the current campaign with Danccini, who justified odds-on favouritism in the Virginia EBS Maiden under Niall McCullagh.
