A 20-metre free from John Moran, launched dramatically to the back of the Wexford net, gave Eamonn Cregan's charges a late, late victory over Wexford at New Ross yesterday.

Wexford, coasting for the best part of the hour, required a threepoint win to progress to the next stage of the competition, but were upset by Moran's strike three minutes into injury-time. Moran was at the heart oh his team's revival, scoring his side's other goal as Limerick awoke from their first-half slumber, and an interval deficit of 0-8 to 0-1, to take victory. Wexford's lead was built on the efforts of Paul Codd, who contributed six points from dead balls.
